1. What are weft hair extensions?
Weft hair extensions – also known as weave hair extensions or hair wefts – are wide hairpieces that resemble a dense curtain of hair. Unlike individual-strand extensions, wefts consist of hair carefully laid side by side and secured with a double-stitched seam. For a permanent result, you can have them sewn in using the weaving method (sew in extensions), attached with micro ring extensions, or fitted as an LA weave. For occasional wear, simply sew clips onto the weft and use it as a clip-in piece.
2. What makes hair2heart wefts special?

Each hair2heart weft contains 100g of human hair and is available in the following lengths:
- 40 cm (16") weft: approx. 160 cm wide
- 50 cm (20") weft: approx. 140 cm wide
- 60 cm (24") weft: approx. 120 cm wide
- 70 cm (28") weft: approx. 90 cm wide
We also offer two construction types:
- Triple-stitched wefts for extra volume
- Hand tied weft extensions with a very fine, flat seam
All weft hair extensions can be cut to your desired width.
3. Which hair types are weft extensions suitable for?
Weave hair extensions are especially recommended for fine hair. Because the weight of the wide weft is distributed evenly – similar to tape in extensions – sew in extensions put less strain on thin hair than individual-strand methods. Of course, normal and thick hair can also be beautifully lengthened with weft hair extensions.
4. How long do weft hair extensions last?
Durability depends on hair quality, care, attachment method and how quickly your natural hair grows. Sew in extensions can stay in the hair for up to 2 months before they need repositioning. Wefts attached with micro rings or bondings also last around 2 months. Clip-in wefts are designed for temporary wear and should be removed before sleep.
Tip: For permanent lengthening, our long-lasting Premium Remy hair wefts are an excellent choice – with proper care, the hair can be reused for up to 6 months (raw hair up to one year).
5. How many wefts do you need?
The number of weft hair extensions depends on the thickness of your natural hair and your desired look. For fine hair, one 100g weft is usually sufficient. For normal or thick hair, you'll need 150–200g of weft hair.
Tip: If you only want to add volume, as little as 30g of weft hair can make a noticeable difference.
6. How to attach weft hair extensions
Weft extensions from hair2heart are versatile and can be fitted using several methods:
Sew In / Weaving
The most popular method in the UK: wefts are sewn onto braided cornrows close to the scalp using a weft needle and special thread. This is also known as sew in extensions or an LA weave. We recommend having weave hair extensions fitted by a professional hairstylist.
Clip-In Wefts
Sew clips onto your weft and attach it to your own hair in seconds – no salon needed. Section off your top hair, clip the weft into the lower section, and lay your hair over the top. Perfect for occasional wear. You can also explore our ready-made clip in hair extensions.
Micro Ring Weft
A weft fitted with micro rings is a permanent, heat-free option. Small metal rings are clamped along the weft seam to secure it to your natural hair. Repositioning is straightforward – open the rings, slide the weft up, and close them again.
Gluing
Wefts can also be attached using special hair glue for shorter-term wear or specific styling needs. For a gentler and longer-lasting result, however, sew in or micro ring fitting is usually preferred.
